CRITICAL TIME TO CLEAN STORES

As grain stores empty in the lead up to harvest Nickerson are recommending that cereal growers get active with their pest control.

 “Now is the critical time to clean your store,” says the firm’s Joss Vincent. “Once a store is emptied it is the best opportunity to take action against any grain-pests. Using Prostore now to disinfect grain stores will reduce the likelihood of having to treat new infestations later in the year thereby reducing overall pesticide use and costs."

ProStore is an emulsifiable concentrate [EC], and is applied in the same manner as other current products on the market. “However ProStore’s great advantage is that it has a dual mode of action and is applied at much lower rates,” adds Mr Vincent.

ProStore is ideal for cleaning grain stores, and offer six months protection on all grain-pests from application.

For growers who think they may have pests Mr Vincent suggests placing pheromone traps in the store to assess the scale of the infestation, followed by a spray treatment if thresholds are met.
