Amenity Grasses

The range of amenity grasses which we market can help to play a key role in the general well-being of the vast majority of the UK's diverse population. For example in the increasingly urbanised society in which we live the availability of formal parks and other more informal green areas for leisure activities has become a significant factor in offsetting the gradual loss of the ‘true countryside'. The domestic lawn, however large or small, can also make a tremendous difference to the ‘quality' of home-life providing, as it does, an opportunity for play and relaxation for adults and children alike.

And when it comes to outdoor sports there is simply nothing to touch natural grass or turf for quality. Whether it is a football or rugby pitch, a golf course, a tennis court or a racecourse there is no doubt that natural, environmentally friendly grass will deliver real benefits in terms of cost and that all-important ‘playability' factor.

We market two well established brands of amenity grass in the UK.

The premium MM range has mixtures to suit every sporting situation and many of these are currently being utilised at many of the UK's top class sporting venues. The MM range is marketed via 11 specialist distributors covering the whole of the United Kingdom. The Designer range is formulated specifically to meet the needs of landscapers, local authorities and sports clubs. Designer mixtures offer true value for money as they combine high performance with competitive pricing.

Both the MM and Designer ranges feature Headstart® treated seed - this unique and innovative product is based on a seaweed extract with a high cytoquinine content. Headstart® provides a faster germination and emergence - especially under less than favourable growing conditions. We have also introduced two collections of non native annual flower species which are designed to add a splash of colour in municipal gardens on roundabouts and in other locations like golf courses and caravan sites.  The two “Colour Splash” collections (Jour de Fete and Douce France) are supplied in hermetically sealed cans containing 400 gms of seed.  For more information you can download a PDF in either the MM or the Designer section.
