Valeska Sugar Beet
Valeska is a very high yielding Rhizomania resistant variety with excellent adjusted tonnes and sugar yields. It has good juice quality (with a high sugar content), sound agronomic characters and good resistance to powdery mildew. In four years of official trials Valeska has produced consistently high adjusted tonnes over a range of conditions. Please click here for more information. Valeska has very good juice quality with an excellent combination of high sugar content and low levels of impurities, especially the all important Amino-nitrogen which is a key character to determine the ease of sugar extraction. |
Valeska has shown lower levels of bolting than the control varieties. Valeska has given high levels of establishment in trials and low levels of bolters when sown at the ‘normal’ time in late March.
Valeska is resistant to Rhizomania and has a high level of resistance to powdery mildew. Valeska’s rust resistance is similar to many of the other Rhizomania resistant varieties. |
