Overture is a very high yielding spring malting barley with very good agronomic characteristics.
Overture has good physical grain characteristics with a high specific weight and very low levels of screenings. Overture has a high Hot Water Extract and is a non-GN (Glycosidic Nitrile) producer making it highly suitable for both brewing and distilling.
Overture is under test by the Instiute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) for brewing and distilling.

Overture has a similar straw length to Optic combined with good lodging resistance. It has very good brackling resistance and is slightly later than Optic to ripen. |

Overture has a good disease resistance package with very high ratings for resistance to mildew and Rhynchosporium, the main spring barley diseases.
