CASSIUS is a soft endospermed winter wheat with a very high yield potential. It has excellent resistance to yellow and brown rusts as well as good standing ability. Cassius is likely to be suitable for the distilling, animal feed and export markets.
Cassius has shown an excellent yield potential in fungicide treated and untreated trials.
Cassius has performed particularly well in the HGCA North and East regions and as a second cereal.
Cassius has medium length straw and has shown very little lodging in trials. |

MARKET OPTIONS
CASSIUS is ideally suited for the animal feed, distilling and export markets. It has shown good dough extensibility and water absorption for biscuit flour and given positive results from distilling tests.
SOWING DATE
Cassius has slow primordial development in the spring (similar to Alchemy) which, combined with its good standing ability and prostrate growth habit, make it suitable for early sowing in the autumn,
