Wheat is the largest arable crop in the United Kingdom with up to two million hectares of production annually, providing over 15 million tonnes of wheat for domestic and overseas markets.

The domestic market for wheat consists of bread and biscuit millers, feed compounders, distillers, bio-ethanol producers, starch extractors and numerous other processors - all of whom have different specifications and requirements from the UK crop.
